  • skål! From the land of Ikea, meatballs and of course Roxette, we are super proud to continue our new world whiskies with the Australian launch of our first ever single malt whisky from Sweden! From Swedish distillery Mackmyra we have nothing short of their flagship product –The Mackmyra Svensk Ek! This is not a flat pack! It comes fully assembled from 100% Swedish ingredients and its even aged in Swedish oak (well – some of it is, read on!). Svensk Ek is the flagship of the Mackmyra core range. Originally called ‘The First Edition’, the new name translates as ‘Swedish Oak’. The whisky is aged partially in casks made from oak from the island of Visingsö, originally intended for use as ship building timber for the Swedish Royal Navy. We’ve spoken about ‘terroir’ in the past – the ‘taste’ of a region. Well, this whisky is all about Swedish terroir. It uses Swedish barley (malted onsite) from the nearby farms in the mash and ferments it with Swedish yeast.  It is then aged in 200L ex-bourbon casks. The age of the casks used in the Svensk Ek range between 4 and 9 years old.  Now, 10% of the whisky is then finished for 18 months in 30L Swedish Oak casks.  You may wonder why only 10% of the whisky is finished this way – well, in the words of the distillers – “To use more Swedish oak the whisky would be too much of all and not a good balance. 10% sound little but it’s gives very much to the mix”.
  • The Red Cliff Whisky Spanish PX Cask is a proper treat - fully matured in a single Pedro Ximénez cask, dripping with jammy raisins, plums, and that glorious Christmas cake richness that PX lovers go weak for. It’s indulgent, warm, and wonderfully expressive, the kind of whisky that makes you pause mid sip and smile. At 48% ABV, it hits the perfect sweet spot: rich and mouth coating without ever feeling hot, bold enough to impress seasoned drinkers, and smooth enough for anyone to fall in love with. It’s the kind of strength that makes you think, “Yep… they nailed it.”
  • Are you ready to get your hands on the 'little brother' to the WORLD BEATING Amber Lane Silk Road? The very FIRST BATCH of the Amber Lane Silk Lane is all yours! Silk Lane takes its production methodology from the Silk Road...Matured for over 5 years in three stages – initially, virgin American oak casks for 12 months prior to moving through two different ex-bourbon casks (Heaven Hill) for the next four and a bit years, for total of 5 years and two months in wood. This single cask release (and subsequent Silk Lane releases) has then been bought down to a very healthy 48%abv for bottling to soften the dram, slowly lowering its ABV to draw gentler characters for a creamy finish. The end result is a whisky that is sugar and spice (and all things nice!) - expect notes of cinnamon, juicy oak, honey and vanilla, followed by spices, red frogs and citrus.
  • Let’s FIRKIN get our whisky on! The RELEASE of not any FIRKIN WHISKY…A LINKWOOD…one of the rarest of the rare with only 1-2% ever being released as a SINGLE MALT – The Firkin Ten Linkwood 2010! The ‘Firkin Ten’ label denotes a spirit aged for 10 years prior to finishing in Mike’s custom casks. This Firkin Ten Linkwood was distilled at Linkwood Distillery, in the Speyside, in 2010. In 2020, it was bought by Mike and transferred to his hybrid, Madeira-seasoned casks where it was finished for a further two years. Bottled with no chill filtering and absolutely nothing added other than the water used to bring it down to the bottling strength of 48.9%ABV. We’re FIRKIN proud to be first to bring this new expression to market in Australia, and we’re pretty FIRKIN chuffed at the price we’ve got it for you as well!

  • For a piece of peated perfection we have first dibs on the eagerly awaited Glen Moray Peated Rioja Cask Finish that was a HUGE hit at the recent (and ongoing) Whisky Show. There are a LOT of people eagerly awaiting this release after tasting it at the Whisky Shows – and the Club are the very first to get access to this superb whisky. Take Glen Moray’s approachable, orchard‑fruit‑driven spirit and thread it through a gentle ribbon of peat before laying it down in vibrant Rioja wine casks. The result is a single malt whisky that feels both familiar and delightfully unexpected - smoky, fruity, wine‑kissed, and wonderfully drinkableThe Glen Moray Peated Rioja Cask Finish Cask Strength!
  • Peat Freaks, REJOICE! Something unexpected has arrived. Forget what you think you know about the Lowlands. We are proud to introduce KinGlassie RAW - a Lowland whisky that is unapologetically PEATED! This is a historic release: it is InchDairnie Distillery’s first-ever peated whisky. It offers a masterclass in balance, delivering a dram that is distinctly peat-forward, yet never overwhelming. It’s the smoke you crave with the refinement you deserve.
  • How does an 11 year old 100% sherry matured single cask Speysider sound? Because that’s exactly this month’s Members Extra – The Rolling Cask Linkwood 11 Year Old!

The Rolling Cask Linkwood 2010 Sherry Butt is a single cask matured Speyside whisky. Distilled in 2010 and disgorged in 2021 this 11 year old is a 100% Single Cask Sherry Butt matured Speyside whisky and is absolutely overflowing with fruity deliciousness.

"Delicious, fruity and a good long chewy finish – all with a nice French-oak pepper spice that keeps the sweetness in check without being overwhelming. It doesn’t look like a sherry bomb – but it has all the flavour of one!"

Blended especially for the SMWC by Ian and Vic, this features two casks of Tin Shed’s oldest whisky at 7 years old (Rum and Chardonnay casks) and a portion of 6 year old from a Shiraz cask (Elderton Commander Shiraz at that!) – hence the ‘6’ as an age statement must be the youngest whisky. After some back and forth with of samples at various ABVs – we’ve all agreed that 43% is the perfect bottling strength.

  • Let’s kick off 2025 with a Highland CASK STRENGTH single malt from the legendary Deanston Distillery. For the FIRST TIME in Australia and EXCLUSIVE to the Single Malt Whisky Club – The Deanston Virgin Oak Cask Strength Batch 1! They say their Deanston Virgin Oak Cask Strength 2023 Edition Batch No.1 is like their founder, Brodie Hepburn, bold, brave and unapologetic, and at 58.5% it certainly packs a punch. Deanston’s Virgin Oak Cask Strength Batch No.1 was first filled in American Oak Bourbon Barrels, some of the finest around. What sets it apart is that waxy citrus character which is true to the Deanston style. Then it was finished in Virgin, American Oak Barrels. A non-chill filtered beauty, with nothing added other than the natural ingredients of pure clean water, malted barley and yeast. In typical Deanston style, as a distillery they strive to be different and to do better, challenging the status quo and looking outside the square. That is this Batch No.1 to a tee.
  • This is a 10-year-old single malt from an unnamed Speyside distillery — let’s just say Elgin has some very talented neighbours — matured for a full decade in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, then bottled exclusively for SMWC members at a commanding 58.7% ABV. No chill filtration. No dilution. Just pure, unapologetic sherry-soaked magnificence. The nose alone will stop you in your tracks — sweet, fruity, and so irresistibly good you’ll want to linger there before you even take a sip. On the palate, it’s viscous and rich with wave after wave of chocolate-coated dates, while the finish stretches on long and chewy in the most satisfying way imaginable. This is the kind of dram that makes guests go quiet, then immediately ask what it is.
