Glenkinchie 10 year old

This month – Glenkinchie 10 year old – a Lowland malt.

Glenkinchie has not been widely available in the past as a single Malt, and this rarity makes the discovery of its character even more enjoyable.

Lowland Malts reflect the tranquillity of the surrounding farmlands – sheltered, green slopes and soft, sweet water. It is the water that flows from the Lammermuir Hills that is used in the making of Glenkinchie.

Glenkinchie Distillery is just fifteen miles from the capital, earning it the title “The Edinburgh Malt”. But it’s strange to think of that dark and distinguished city when you see fields of barley or the green Lammermuir Hills rolling north towards the Firth of Forth. Stranger still when you taste the subtle, floral flavour of this rare Lowland survivor.

The Glenkinchie 10 year old is light, dry and intricate, fresh tasting with a sweet citrus finsh. Glenkinche is one of the last two remaining lowland distilleries.
