Ironhouse Barrel Aged Porter Beer

BEER! BEER! BEER! But not just any beer…For the first time in the history of the club and in fact anywhere as far as we know…a beer that matches the August Malt of the Month, the Tasman Whisky Special Edition Bourbon Cask!

THE ULTIMATE BOILERMAKER! – An Ironhouse Porter Beer that has been aged in the same cask (once the whisky came out of course). Yes, you heard right. This month we’re offering our members a perfectly matched Boilermaker.  A matched pair.  A beer and a shot with the same DNA. A dynamic duo of distilled delight.

Brewed to order for The Single Malt Whisky Club by Iron House Distillery then aged for 3 months in the same cask our Tasman Whisky Single Bourbon Cask Matured Special Release came out of. A MATCHED BOILERMAKER!

A porter is a dark, creamy beer developed in the 1700’s in England. Compared to a stout, a porter is sweeter and a bit fruitier than stout. Usually also has a lower abv – but at 6% – our Porter is no lightweight and brewed with Pilsner Barley – grown and malted in Tasmania.

An English style ale with a blend of six speciality malts (grown and malted in Tasmania) such as roasted chocolate gives this porter it’s complex malt flavour of rich caramels and roasted cocoa. Staying with the traditional English style, the hops we champion here are East Kent Goldlings. Their subtle earthy, floral honey spice flavour bring a smoothness to the porter creating a quaffable, moreish brew with a rich caramel and cocoa vibe.
